Zen Again 35

Troops marshal, on the St Peter Port quayside. A council of war is held. A plan hatched. . . .

. . . .For the unloading of a fleet of vintage vehicles. Which are to lead the Liberation Day street parade.

In Cherbourg, before we left, a lone bugler played the Last Post. Whilst wreaths were laid, one on behalf of each European nation, at the memorial to the US 66th Infantry. To remember the seven hundred and sixty three, of their number, killed, in 1944, when their ship was sunk, off the port.

In Guernsey, the theme is Liberation and Reunion. Past and future.

The personal vignettes, of islanders, are attached to the railings. Above the bobbing boats and peaceful blue waters, of the harbour.
