In Cherbourg, before we left, a lone bugler played the Last Post. Whilst wreaths were laid, one on behalf of each European nation, at the memorial to the US 66th Infantry. To remember the seven hundred and sixty three, of their number, killed, in 1944, when their ship was sunk, off the port.
