La Hirondelle 65

Plain 'Le 14 Juillet,' in France. Bastille Day, to we Brits. Either way, today is the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, the royal armoury, in Paris. The catalyst for the French Revolution.

To be commemorated across the nation, tonight. In Piriac, by moules-frites for all, in the church square; followed by live music, on the sea wall; and the grand finale, fireworks from the pier heads.

As yet, the height of activity is pebble skimming, on the beach.

The peche a pied continuing, with its usual quiet intensity, amid the low tide rock pools.

Streets, leading down to the shore, are lightly populated.

The village slumbering late, in preparation for the festivities to come.
