Dandelion 78

A biblical downpour sets in overnight. And persists, unremitting, throughout the day. Only the hardy and the hungry browse the market stalls, in La Trinite's square.

Scurrying from canopy to canopy. Dodging cateracts, which pour from their edges. "Incroyable," the word of the day, by frequency of utterance.

Many of us pause, to snap pictures of rain eclipsed river vistas. Or our fellow aquanauts.

A return to fairer conditions, by the standards of this strangest of summers, is forecast for tomorrow. (Yesterday's picture.)

Accompanied by a favourable breeze. For the next stage of Stargazer’s cruise. Which is to make for the craggy shores, of northern Brittany.

Neglected for four years. And nearer to home, in case of an early onset of ‘autumn’ gales. Spun from the tails of unseasonal Caribbean hurricanes. (Picture: Ploumanac'h 2020)
