Dandelion 74

The tide is out, in Pornic vieux port. Only a trickle of a channel meanders out to sea. In which gulls wade.

Alongside the quays, the boats settle in the harbour mud. Hard aground.

As high and dry, as the fortunes of the Conservative party. The snap election, which a rain spattered Rishi Sunak called, back in May, has been lost.

With a resounding swing, to a resurgent Labour party. Led by Sir Keir Starmer. I watch, in hope, on my phone, as the new Prime Minister assumes control of Britain's fortunes.

Wondering if a courageous captain has been found, to keep us off the rocks. After the upheavals of Boris' Brexit and Truss' cost of living crisis. With war in Ukraine and Gaza. Perhaps, a new world order hatching.

For a skilled skipper is needed, at the helm of the ship of state. To plot a course, through the turbulent waters, in which we sail.
