Dandelion 45

There is an air of anticipation abroad, upon the freshly refurbished mole, in Port Louis. Marquees have been erected. Bunting set flying. The visitors' pontoon cleared of boats.

For a regatta is to be held this weekend.

Up the hill, on the cobbled high street, the mood is relaxed. The pavements near deserted.

Save for those outside the bars and cafes.

Stargazer has borrowed a vacationing resident’s berth, until tomorrow morning’s tide.

When she must follow the example, of Eric Tabarly's famous Fife gaffer, Pen Duick (pictured), and put to sea.
