Mon 9.7.12: Ile de Noirmoutier, Pointe de St Pierre. Up with the dawn this morning - with a clear horizon and the day ahead of us. We ghost out of Les Sables d'Olonne with sails just drawing. The wind fills in 10 miles out.
We fly up past Ile de Yeu in 18 knots of breeze. The Loire flood tide gathers us up as we bear away N of the Ile de Noirmoutier. It sweeps us down to the wooded promontory of Pointe des Dames.
I sound in along the beach and tuck behind Pointe St Pierre. Feels good to be at anchor as the sun goes down.
Looking forward to rowing ashore to explore tomorrow.
