The village of Conleau is at the head of the creek. Where the inland sea spreads its tidal tentacles amongst the fields.
Houses crowd onto the higher ground of a promontory. For the views which it affords.
To the Pointe de Roguedas and the Golfe de Morbihan, to the south.
Or north, to the farmland and oyster beds. With Vannes beyond them.
A cluster of moorings, below Pointe de Moreac, marks the highest point, at which full draft boats may lie afloat.
A small stone quay and slip provide a landing point for tenders.
Which are skillfully sculled from ship to shore.
Languor pervades, as at the heads of all creeks. Where the tempo of time slows, the more that the sun shines.
