Three, manually operated, bridges and a sluice gate lie. . . . .
. . . .between the green parks, of Vannes, . . . .
. . . . .and the ink blue waters, of the Golfe du Morbihan.
Their hours of opening dependent upon: the time of high water, daylight (it is unsafe to navigate the Morbihan by night, due to its swirling currents) and the working hours of the Capitainerie. Factors which have ruled out morning openings, since Monday.
Tomorrow, high water is at 06.40. Before the Capitainerie's customary 08.30 start. But a brief opening (usually it would span the two hours either side of the top of the tide) is being offered, between 08.00 and 08.30. A bonus which Stargazer hopes to bank.
Following in the wake of this, wood built, homage to the fleet footed Breton luggers, of yore.
