An English Summer 37

Barely a ripple creases the pristine surface of the sea, this morning. John is back, from tending his crab and lobster pots, which have been towed out of position. The most likely explanation, is that they have attracted Wally's attention, as a pick ‘n’ mix seabed snack selection.

Stargazer's fore-triangle is hung with drying laundry.

It is an easy row ashore, today. I take advantage, by doing the, water hungry, clothes washing and then refilling Stargazer's tanks. Two trips, to the beach, have them brim full once more.

There is a handily located tap, for the purpose, at the head of the slip way.

As I row, to and fro, Old Grimsby awakes around me, to a summer's Saturday morning.

Paddle boarders patrol the shallows.

The wind is forecast to box the compass, more or less, tomorrow. Before settling into the north for most of next week. A direction which renders both Porth Cressa, on St Mary's, and The Cove, between Gugh and St Agnes, sheltered anchorages.

  1. Nice photos Doug, Wally has a new residence they have made for him to stop him damaging boats in St Mary’s Harbour made from those black pontoons.
Today so spent a rainy day on St Martin’s but the rib for the seals broke down! Was a rubbish day weather wise. Brightened up a bit now 16.17 back on St Mary’s.
    Cheers

  2. Yes, definitely a ‘soft’ day in Scilly. Glad I got a walk in, yesterday evening, in the sunshine.
