An English Summer 34

Exuberant play, amid a profusion of scented colour. In the Tresco Abbey Gardens.

If the sea has been fierce, these past days. . . .

. . . .the island's sun filled, sheltered, lanes seek to make amends:

With vivid sprays of colour.

And improbably jutting, other-worldly, succulents, sprouting from rock hewn walls.

Honey bees hum contentedly, sated on nectar.

And the sea relents. Revealing a wild craggy rock-scape, framed by calm blue seas and lush green clifftops.
