Stargazer sailed out of Loctudy with the breeze at her back. The waters lightly ruffled in the morning sunshine.
Lifting over a long swell. Which spoke of more breeze to seaward.
The Penmarc'h dolphins surface breathily alongside. Pausing just long enough to say hello. Before going on their way.
Stargazer holds station, off the Pointe de Penmarc'h, whilst the wind dies. By the time her skipper has brewed a pot of coffee, it is back. With more north in it. Building fast.
Stargazer puts her shoulder down and tacks her way north, through the afternoon. A reef in the main. Spray flying. The, more circumspect, Audierne Bay dolphins visible as pale submarine flashes. Playing 'dare,' darting from side to side, ahead of the keel. Without surfacing.
We steadily close the long peninsula, on the horizon. With Audierne Bay to its south; Douarnenez Bay to the north; and the Raz de Sein at its western tip.
Stargazer slips in to Sainte-Evette in time to enjoy a beach side supper.
Astern, our old friend, Bernard Moitessier's Joshua, sounds in and drops anchor.
