Zen Again 119

Opening the carton stirs the same mixture of dread and excitement, as revealing the contents of an exam results envelope. Stargazer's replacement ram is here. A day early. Mathieu calling, on Tuesday evening, to ask if I would like to collect it, before he closes. Swiftly unboxed, the ram springs to life. Bringing jubilation, at an A plus result.

I post a five star review, on the Accastillage Diffusion home page. What it may lack, in syntax, I hope that it makes up for in sentiment.

There are light airs today, whilst we ponder the best use of our rediscovered freedom. But tomorrow, a passage making southwesterly is forecast. Ahead of a week or more of light north, or north easterly, headwinds. An opportunity to seize.

If Stargazer can maintain an average speed, close to six knots, a tidal slingshot may be possible. Which would enable us to complete the north easterly portion of our course, whilst the southwest wind blows from behind. For, with sufficient speed, the north going flow of the Chenal du Four can be linked to the east going flow, from L'Aber Wrac'h to the Ile de Batz. To give twelve hours of fair tide.

Once past the Ile de Batz, the coast turns. With an abundance of options, to cater for most wind conditions, amid the ports of North Brittany. If Stargazer can sustain six knots, or better. With the help of her new crew member.
