I wake to see St Piran's flag, fluttering, alert, in Stargazer's rigging. The forecast gives F3-4 east or north east, for the next 48 hours.
I breakfast; update the Scilly passage plan, for tonight; and study the chart for options- in case our breeze fades.
The weathered battlements, of St Michaels Mount, lie 40 sea miles west. A site of ancient Celtic, and then Benedictine, trade, fortification and worship. An evocative landfall, to make at the break of dawn.
If progress, toward St Agnes (Scilly), slows tonight; we'll make for St Michael's Mount (Kernow) - flying the flag of St Piran!
