I watched our anchor, dive through the topaz sea,and bury itself in silver sand, at 09.00 this morning.
The plowtering slog, out past The Manacles, at dusk; the wind fickle, swell mischievous and iron topsail ticking over - was instantly forgotten, off the Lizard. The tide lifted us across Mounts Bay, under a blaze of stars; towards the knowing wink of the Wolf Rock light.
We cleared Lands End at a canter, with a fresh breeze at our back, and galloped through tumbling whitecaps, into the maze of wave worn granite that is The Isles of Scilly.
A long anticipated landfall, worth every moment of the wait.
(Signal a bit touch & go - hence only a couple of pics)
