Dandelion 118

The skies darken ominously, above the Twin Sails (newer) bridge. I shiver, in my shorts and polo shirt, as the breeze picks up and the sun vanishes. Quickening my pace. For warmth, and to be back aboard Stargazer, before the threatened rain arrives.

The new camera had arrived, exactly on time. Its controls and menus so similar to its predecessor’s, that it was set up within fifteen minutes. On deck, colours were deep and vibrant, in the mid afternoon sun. Tempting me out for an evening walk. Along the footpath, which follows (more or less) the Holes Bay shore.

Past the RNLI building. Which houses the national training academy. Where volunteer crews have been learning the ropes, aboard the fleet of RIB's. Or practising towing techniques, using the centre's ageing sailing cruiser, as a stricken vessel.

By the time I reach Poole Quay, although the sun still shines, it is with a wan light. Veiled by thin, high whisps of cloud. Harbingers of the August Bank Holiday blow to come.
